Today is my late mother in law’s birthday. She would have been 81. Wow.. that was weird typing ‘late mother in law’. In honor of her birthday, I wrote a post about her on the blog and share a few memories of her, including when she used a blanket as a diaper for Valentina. 😂 LINK IN BIO.
Monte dei Cappuccini always looks good... day or night.
That time I took a picture of the Moulin Rouge while on a moving bus. This was with B&W film so I had to wait until I got back home and had to develop them before knowing if it came out ok. #backintheday #2004
Today is Father’s day in Italy and we’re so lucky to have this guy as our daddy. It has been a rough month with being sick for 2 weeks, his mother’s death, quarantine and a funeral but we got through it together with laughter, tears and more love. I am so happy he’s mine. Ti vogliamo un mondo di bene. 😘😘
March 17, 1861- A unified Italy was born. It’s hard to imagine that Italy as a country is only 160 years old. Before the unification, the peninsula was made of Kingdoms, Duchies and City-States, all with their own language/dialects and cuisine. This is why Italian cuisine can’t be defined by one dish. This is also why I believe it’s important to remember the dialects spoken in different regions/cities. It’s part of Italy’s history. As part of that history, let’s remember that my beautiful city of Torino was the 1st capital of Italy and the first parliament was held in our gorgeous Palazzo Carignano. (Third foto) Happy 160th Birthday Italy! 🇮🇹
It is with sadness that we say Ciao to Nonna Adelasia. From the moment I walked into her house, she treated me like a daughter. She taught me her recipes and she helped me with my girls. She would always offer to help even when her Dementia got worse. She was funny and we have lots of good memories. Thank you Nonna for everything. We love you and will miss you so much. RIP
