Giro del Gelato: Gelateria dei Neri

July 29, 2017

On a hot Florentine night, after witnessing a lovers quarrel on the street, we stopped at Gelateria dei Neri. The place was crowded so I took that as a sign that it was going to be good. My niece and sister in law were still on their Granita kick but I knew my girls wouldn’t … More Giro del Gelato: Gelateria dei Neri

Giro del Gelato: Gelateria della Passera

July 22, 2017

Next up on my Florence recap, is another Gelateria I heard a lot about. On our last night in Florence we found ourselves crossing the Arno for dinner. Before going back we decided to get our gelato at Gelateria della Passera. It’s a tiny little shop located in Piazza della Passera so don’t let that … More Giro del Gelato: Gelateria della Passera

Giro del Gelato: il Procopio

July 15, 2017

One of the first things I did when I started planning my visit to Florence was to find out where to go for amazing gelato. I have high standards and I do NOT go just anywhere. The problem with visiting touristy cities in the summertime is that it’s super hot and you just want something … More Giro del Gelato: il Procopio

Giro del Gelato: L’Essenza del Gelato

June 23, 2016

One of my favorite things to do is walk around the city and take the streets less traveled. Avoiding the crowds on busy days or just not wanting to be bothered, taking a side street is the best way to find the places locals love. Having seen this gelateria before I made a mental note to … More Giro del Gelato: L’Essenza del Gelato

Giro del Gelato: Alberto Marchetti

June 9, 2016

Alberto Marchetti. When one hears this name they think of only one thing. GELATO. Year after year, Alberto Marchetti continues to appear on everyone’s “Top Gelateria” lists. One try and it’s easy to see why. His flavors are classic and yet innovative; only using the freshest and highest quality of ingredients. I remember the first … More Giro del Gelato: Alberto Marchetti

Giro del Gelato: ConoGelato

May 19, 2016

You know that feeling you get when you want something familiar but different. Like you want gelato but not the usual stuff. You want something surprising, different, maybe even a little more daring.  That’s ConoGelato. It’s gelato with a simple twist. Gelato made with Piemontese Bufalo milk! Yes.. you read correctly.. BUFALO MILK! I am … More Giro del Gelato: ConoGelato

Giro del Gelato: Gelateria Popolare

April 27, 2016

Spring is here and the weather has been UH-MA-ZING! Recently, I teamed up with my friends Turin Mamma and Michelle Bottalico Photography for an afternoon out (sans kids!) While our meet up was somewhat blogger business related it was just a perfect excuse to get together and relax. The last time we were at the … More Giro del Gelato: Gelateria Popolare

Giro del Gelato: Latteria Ugolini

May 19, 2015

A while back, I started receiving likes on several of my Instagram photos from a place called Latteria Ugolini. I had never heard of them before and once I saw they were a self service gelateria, I knew I had to try it out.  The location is very small so on a hot summers … More Giro del Gelato: Latteria Ugolini

Gelato count for August

September 6, 2009

In the 8 months that we’ve been here, Carlo has continued to tease me about the number of times I have gone to Grom or any other gelateria. He tells everyone I have had at least 150 gelati. How can that be?? I don’t think it’s entirely true. So, I’ve started to document how much … More Gelato count for August

If there’s one day where soccer (football) fans unite, it’s today. May 4, 1949 a plane carrying the entire Torino team, coaching staff and a few journalists crashed into the retaining wall behind the Basilica di Superga. This church sits on a hill over looking the valley. (I wrote a quick post on the blog.) Every year fans head up to the church to pay their respects and the city lights up the Mole Antonelliana in the teams colors.
When you grow up in a multicultural home you get to be a little extra, especially around the holidays. Since we didn’t have time before Easter, we made our cascarones today and will probably take them to the playground tomorrow.
March 19th is San Giuseppe, or St. Joseph. Joseph being Jesus’ earthly father is recognized as the father of us all and thus is why Italians celebrate Father’s Day today. Here’s to all you Dads celebrating.. and to our main guy. We love him soo much. #fathersday #lifeinitaly #lifewithkids
A few weeks ago, we took a walk to the park and the girls stopped for a few seconds to go on the slide. It immediately brought back memories from when they were little and the playground was our life.
Today is a special day and it almost went unnoticed. It’s my Italyversary! 13 years ago on January 3rd, 2009, I walked out of Turin Caselle Airport not knowing what my future was going to be like. I just knew I was supposed to be here with my “still new” husband.
#top9 for #2021. Seems like reels got the most love this year. So I guess I should make more. 🤷🏽‍♀️ #turinpro #therealturin
