2018 One Word Theme: ME

December 28, 2017

It’s time once again to sit and review the past year that didn’t pan out the way I had hoped. Last year, I had high hopes for 2017. I still remember writing my post and being so excited. My theme was MORE. MORE knitting- I was going to start knitting again and try to pick … More 2018 One Word Theme: ME

On the menu: Pizza night

February 9, 2017

A few months ago, I wrote about my love for menu planning and how I can’t function without it. You can read about it here, but I basically sit down with our family calendar and school lunch calendars and plan out the month ahead. One of the ways I make it easy on myself is … More On the menu: Pizza night

On the Menu: Pasta & Tuna

September 9, 2016

A few months ago, I wrote about my Menu planning process. (you can read about it here) While I haven’t exactly planned out anything this month (hello summer!) I still follow my rules I set up for myself. To make meal planning easier, I designate certain days for certain types of meats/dishes. For example, if … More On the Menu: Pasta & Tuna

How to totally freak out your parents

February 10, 2016

Growing up we always ate a variety of foods… or at least I thought we did. We ate mostly Mexican but we also had our fair share of American comfort foods. Meatloaf, Roast.. things like that. If there’s one day where soccer (football) fans unite, it’s today. May 4, 1949 a plane carrying the entire Torino team, coaching staff and a few journalists crashed into the retaining wall behind the Basilica di Superga. This church sits on a hill over looking the valley. (I wrote a quick post on the blog.) Every year fans head up to the church to pay their respects and the city lights up the Mole Antonelliana in the teams colors.
When you grow up in a multicultural home you get to be a little extra, especially around the holidays. Since we didn’t have time before Easter, we made our cascarones today and will probably take them to the playground tomorrow.
March 19th is San Giuseppe, or St. Joseph. Joseph being Jesus’ earthly father is recognized as the father of us all and thus is why Italians celebrate Father’s Day today. Here’s to all you Dads celebrating.. and to our main guy. We love him soo much. #fathersday #lifeinitaly #lifewithkids
A few weeks ago, we took a walk to the park and the girls stopped for a few seconds to go on the slide. It immediately brought back memories from when they were little and the playground was our life.
Today is a special day and it almost went unnoticed. It’s my Italyversary! 13 years ago on January 3rd, 2009, I walked out of Turin Caselle Airport not knowing what my future was going to be like. I just knew I was supposed to be here with my “still new” husband.
#top9 for #2021. Seems like reels got the most love this year. So I guess I should make more. 🤷🏽‍♀️ #turinpro #therealturin
