Another school year has come and gone and as usual, the middle school and high school kids have all gathered to celebrate! It’s tradition. Go to the fountains at Piazza Castello and play.
I remember the first time I saw the kids playing back in 2009. It was my first summer here and Carlo and I had met up for lunch. (You can read about it here.) I remember telling him that no daughter of mine would be doing such silly things.
She would NOT running around half naked (technically in undergarments but it’s the same thing)! She would NOT be allowed to even come here with her friends…. PERIOD!
Well, that was 2009. Two years later, I took Miss V and we watched the kids play. She was only One year old so she had no clue what was going on. (You can see that post here.)
It’s been 5 years since I’ve able to go back and watch the kids play and I had been looking forward to this day for weeks. I met up with my friend Michelle who blogs at Simply Italiana and we both reminisced about the days when we got really excited about school being out for the summer. It made me want to join the kids and splash around too. Their excitement was contagious and you can’t help but smile at them having so much fun.
As for Miss V, Miss E and Miss C… well, they’ll be at the Piazza in a few years and I will be too.. taking lots of pictures.
Hope I’ll be around to take lots of pictures too! Looks like alot of Fun!
