What can be said about Torino’s Egyptian museum that hasn’t already been said? It’s one of the reasons that Torino is so famous and important. This collection is the 2nd most important in THE WORLD! (Obviously Cairo is First) I have visited the museum several times and it was good.
However, now after 5 years of renovations it is better than ever. 50 Million Euros went into the renovations and definitely noticeable. Before the work, it didn’t quite have a museum feel. It was nice but I felt like most of the collection was in a “school” setting. Now it looks like a start of the art, up to par museum.
The collection is impressive and even if you know absolutely NOTHING about Egyptian history you will enjoy it. I promise you! My advice is to eat before hand and take advantage of the occasional benches you see. It’s a lot to take in and it does take a while to see (and read) everything.
For more information check out the museums site here: Museo Egizio di Torino.
Haven’t had a chance to go since the renovations. Really want to check it out!

Same! I went several times before they renovated and every time I was surprised by something new I hadn’t seen before. I have been meaning to go again.
