Now that I have 2 girls in school it is a little bit easier to explore some of the city BUT I do have some limits as I have to be home in time to pick up the girls. My first outing with Baby C was to the city center to meet up with a dear friend who has just moved back into town. Since it was our first big outing.. just the two of us, I wanted to make sure I made it extra fun for her especially since she did so well while mommy as catching up with her friend.

While looking for city playgrounds I use Google maps satellite view to see if there’s playground equipment visible. If so, then I make a note to check it out later. This is how I found this area near  the Cittadella. I’ve been a mom for 5 years and I never knew this playground was here. Had I known, it would have save us many meltdowns and tantrums.

Once we turned the corner, Carlotta couldn’t contain her excitement and she tried to wriggle her way out of the stroller.

There are 2 sections of this playground. One section has a baby slide and see-saw. This is the perfect spot for little ones who are just walking and/or aren’t quite used to having bigger kids around.

Turn around and you have another group of equipment. I fell in love the minute I saw it because it is absolutely perfect for families with kids of different age groups. Often Miss V and Miss E love to run off and play on the big kid equipment and it’s hard to keep an eye on them and try to keep Baby C from escaping (which she still tries to do).

 

 

 

As you can see, it’s not very big but the equipment is placed just perfectly that I really can relax  bit and not worry too much.

While it is located just off a major street, the playground is actually behind the Cittadella and gated. There were quite a few kids this morning and considering it’s location, (across from the Police Station) there are always people around.

The Giardino Cittadella/Guglielminetti is found just off Via Cernia before you reach Piazza Solferino and is recommended for kids ages 12 months to 10 years.

 

 

*The city tries its best to upkeep these play areas. They’re cleaned once a week and checked for broken and damaged structures. They’ll often place a sticker on the equipment (usually the swings) with the date and time they controlled everything. There is also small plaque indicating the recommended age for use. While most of these playgrounds are gated some may not be completely closed off and most are located near very busy streets.
