2015 has proven to be a challenge and it wasn’t supposed to be that way. Let me rewind a bit. In February 2014, I started walking again. I had taken a (big) break from exercise and had decided it was time to focus on my health. It started with walking twice a week for an hour. What ever I could do in that hour was fine but I needed to get out. By August, I was walking 7-9km 2-3 times a week. I was on a roll. At the end of August I decided to try jogging. I had been trying and I just couldn’t get past a few meters until I wanted to collapse.
I realized I was doing it all wrong. I had to go slowly. Slow and steady wins the race.. right?!? So I started jogging very, very slowly. In fact my time was better walking than jogging. I kept at it and slowly built up my endurance. Baby steps.
Once the New Year came, I got hit with Bronchitis and everything went downhill. I was out for 6 weeks and it seemed like forever trying to get back into running. By March, I had hit my stride again and reached my first goal. Running (jogging… same thing) 5k without stopping. It was a first in my life. I had never run before so this was a BIG DEAL to me.

So now here we are. It’s July and I haven’t gone running in almost a month. School is over now and it’s hard to get out of the house early to go run. My husband has to work so that means I have to ask my MIL to watch the girls and since this heat has been brutal, her health has suffered which means I have no one to watch them. My mom was here and while I did go a few times, my eating habits really go down hill when we have visitors.
I need some motivation. I had started doing morning stretches and Yoga/Pilates poses via Blogilates but again, I haven’t done that in a while either.
BUT… I won’t stop.
It’s the only me time I really have. I enjoy it. I just need a bit of motivation to get me going again. I’ll tell you what, this certainly helps..

Do you have any tips and/or advice for me? What about simple workouts I can do at home? (no jumping jacks.. I live in an apartment building!)
Ciao Sonia, I end up here coming from livinginthelanghe.wordpress.com, and it was a nice surprise! Your blog is very interesting, a fresh point of view of my hometown.
