Day 3: Today I am thankful that my kids are super close in age…. even it makes it more difficult for me. Carlo and I had agreed that we wanted kids and we wanted them close in age. After Valentina was born, (I’m talking minutes after she was born) we said that we wouldn’t wait much longer until we tried for a second one. The excitement and happiness we felt with Valentina’s birth was overwhelming. Not to mention that the actual delivery didn’t hurt as I thought it would.
By the time she was 9 months old, Carlo said he was ready for another baby. He missed having a teeny tiny little baby in the house. I wasn’t as ready as he was. I was enjoying my time with Valentina and said I wanted to wait until she was at least ONE before we talked about having another baby. However, a month later I said I was ready.
It took us 16 months to get pregnant with Valentina yet it only took us 3 months for Elisabetta. I didn’t think it would happen that quickly but it did. They are exactly 22 months (to the date) apart. They are best friends…. or so it seems. They both light up when they see each other in the morning. Elisabetta immediately wants to climb on Valentina. Valentina smiles and tries to hold her while they play on our bed. It’s really sweet and you can see how much they love each other. I hope that they will continue to feel that way as they grow up together. (They’ll have to because they will be sharing a room…. NO EXCEPTIONS!)
