It’s called,

MY NEW FAVORITE STORE!!!!!

This place…. is AMAZING!! First of all, this was actually supposedto be a post about going toLingotto which is a mall here in Torino. That is until we went toEataly for lunch. So, now you’re going to have to read along as I talk about how great this store is. It’s only 2 years old and it’s already got locations in… Milano, Bologna, & Tokyo. A New Yorklocationis planned for opening next year as well as smallerlocation throughout Italy. It all started… with the Slow Food Movement which you can read about here. Basically, the Slow Food movement is a non-profit organization trying to counteract fast food and fast life. To quote the website:
Slow Food is a non-profit, eco-gastronomic member-supported organization that was founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.
To do that, Slow Food brings together pleasure and responsibility, and makes them inseparable.
Today, we have over 100,000 members in 132 countries.

We started our lunch with a sample of bread with THE BEST Olive Oil I have ever tasted. It was so good, I bought a bottle. I could have walked around taking samples and been full but instead, we ate some gelato with a sample of pound cake with berries.

pistacchio, fior di latte & cioccolato fondente
pistacchio, cioccolato fondente & pralinato
San Pe’- Agrigelateria
Everywhere I turned, I wanted to take a picture. Aisles with hundreds of sauces……

pasta…
even a bakery and a pizzeria…
I turned the corner and there… were more sauces….
and more pasta…
and that was just a small part of it. Once you leave that “area” we passed the Agrigelateria, the caffe’ and the pastry section with a sign that tells you…. ” Sweets are Here”
Then we cross the store to the other side where they have more restaurants and fresh produce.
There are 6 restaurants that cater to a specific item such as… Fish, Pasta & Pizza, Meat, Salami & Cheeses, Veggies & Beer. The 7th restaurant is a regular restaurant using all of these items.
I can’t wait to come back here and try out all of the food.
While we shopped Carlo said he really wished he would have brought me here sooner. My sister in law, Lizzy and I would have had so much fun here. Then he says.. “maybe it’s a good thing you didn’t know about it sooner.” Not to mention that if I had brought my parents to Eataly… we probably would have bought half of the store!
